
Capilla del Monte

Cordoba 's City
This city was founded by the Spanish noble Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera at the Suquia riverside on July the 6 th of 1573. It was first named Cordoba de la Nueva Andalucía and the renamed as it is known today, with the same name of the province.
It is Cordoba 's province capital city and the second important one after Buenos Aires as regards of population. It displays a mixture between modern buildings and very preserved constructions from the Colonial epoch built during the XVII and XVIII centuries.
In 1614, the Jesuits founded the National University, the second important one in Latin America, where many famous culture figures and politicians studied. For this fact, Cordoba was known as La Docta, (the erudite).
For being the capital of the province its commercial life is quite agitated. Visitors can walk around rustic pedestrian walkways and commercial shop centers, shopping malls, cafeterias, regional restaurants, etc. The most important pedestrian circuit links San Martin square, the Cathedral, the Historical Town Council, the Light Block, Jesus Church, Trejo´s House, Monserrat National School and Fray José Antonio's museum.
Even though it has the characteristics of a cosmopolitan city with a very busy night life with several theatres and spectacle rooms as well as casino and sophisticated discos, it also offers lots of green spaces, such as Sarmiento´s Park which was designed at the end of the last century by the French architect Carlos Thays.
However the industrial activity is growing and is cause of wealth, people still practicing cattle breeding and agriculture.
La Cumbre
This city stands out for its therapeutic weather, considered to be one of the best in the world. It is surrounded by natural beauties such as the Sierra, located just a kilometer away from the center of the village, which has the image of Christ Redemptor at the top of the hill of about 7 meters of height. Visitors as well as inhabitants can reach this monument through a path through the sierra at the bottom of which they will find San Roque´s Chapel.
Next to La Cumbre lays Cruz Chica city, where the Manuel Mujica Lainez Home Museum is located. La Cumbre is also near by Cruz Grande city. Both cities have wooded parks with beautiful residences embedded on a sierra valley.
La Cumbre ´s architecture displays big stony houses of English style.

La Falda
This is a privileged city due its wonderful microclimate. It is a tourist center situated on El Cuadrado hillside and displays sierra landscapes, considered to be the most appreciated in Córdoba.
La Falda is surrounded by Valle Hermoso on the south and by Huerta Grande on the north and it constitutes one of the wealthiest centers in the Punilla Valley with a quite important commercial life reflected over the Edén Avenue.
The city displays rich history through its constructions, such as the magnificent Santísimo Sacramento Church, which can be seen from different points of the city.
Its tourist infrastructure is also developed on natural beach resorts and adventure tourism. La Falda Dyke gives the opportunity of practicing sport fishing and water sports.

Mina Clavero
This city presents streams, slopes and falls surrounded by thick vegetation which gives the place an amazing beauty making it one of the main tourist centers of Cordoba.
It is located on the western hillside of the Achala central mountain range of Cordoba 's Sierras and is linked to Cordoba´s City through a spectacular route inside of high peaks that crosses out The Pampa of Achala zone.
Its main natural attractions are: Panaholma River which has semi thermal waters with healing qualities, and Mina Clavero River which has cold waters where are situated the majority of beach resorts.
In the border of Villa Cura Brochero, both rivers join giving birth, Los Sauces River, which has wide and warm sand coasts and finished its course into La Viña Dam. This River is the most important one of The Traslasierra Valley.
The main cultural and commercial activity is dedicated to the production of handcrafted ceramics, pottery; textiles made mostly with sheep wool, works in carob wood, palm, cane, horn and leather, as well as handcrafted gastronomic products such as sweets, fruits and the traditional "alfajores".

Villa General Belgrano
This small town is located on Calamuchita Valley, surrounded by mountains and amazing natural landscapes.
