Coviahué

This mountain village is located right at the foot of the Copahue Volcano, on the Caviahué lakeside. In Mapuche language its name means "place for celebration or reunion".

It displays rustic landscapes sprinkled with clear water streams, falls and colorful woods.

On winter season, visitors will find the village covers with copious snowfalls that make it a suitable place for practicing skiing. The ski tracks are surrounded by araucaria woods and let the visitors practicing different skiing styles such as cross-country, lesser degree and Alpine styles among others due its undulations and variety of length.

On summer season Caviahué is perfect for adventure tourism. Visitors can enjoy of horse riding, sport fishing, family walkings, mountain biking, etc

For its location on the south of the country it is thought to be a very cold place, but due a climatic phenomenon, the temperatures are warm in both winter and summer.

Capahue

This picturesque village is famous for its thermal waters. Even though it doesn't have a stable population is an important tourist center due its complex thermal activity recognized as one the best three in the world.

It occupies 10 hectares of a ravine what gives it an amazing landscape.

Recently a high quality and hierarchy thermal center has been installed. It has the capacity fro 2500 thermal baths per day and is supervised by a distinguished group o professionals and technicians with the main aim of giving advice on the most convenient type of baths, depending who is the patient. Here rheumatic, respiratory and dermatologic problems are treated in comfortable individual cabins or on big pools.

This center is the main attraction of the village and offers balneotherapy, massotherapy and kinesiotherapy treatments for all kind of affections. It infrastructure is very complete, with dressing rooms, a gymnasium, a spa and sauna.

Other important natural attractions are the several clear water springs, with water with different properties. For that fact the streams receive different names, such as Vichy, Sulphurous, Lemon's, Mate's and Volcano's.

Besides, visitors can find the amazing fumaroles, good for vapor treatments.

Three times a week there is a market which is organized in the mountain by the inhabitants, where tourist can purchase handicrafts such as blankets, ponchos, basketry, and fruits of the region.

As it is a small village the lodging infrastructure is reduced but with high quality.

San Martín de los Andes

This city displays beautiful landscapes that reflect peace and tranquility through its great green extensions due its location between the Lácar Lake eastern lakeside and the fertile Vega Maipú Valley.

Its origins date from 1883, when a fort was set up in The Vega Maipú Valley.

It offers the charm of the snow in winter and the possibility of practicing adventure tourism in summer.
It is the most famous tourist centre of the province of Neuquén with a picturesque architecture based of an Alpine style with buildings ornamented with wood. The streets are wide resulting of an ordered outlining.

On winter tourist can visit the neighboring winter center of Chapelco.

On summer season they can visit the Lanín National Park that offers the possibility of practicing sport fishing, trekking, rafting, mountaineering and 4 x 4 excursions.

This beautiful mountain village is famous for being the entrance to The Arrayanes National Park, which is the only place in the world where pure myrtle wood can be found.

It is located in the South of Neuquén right in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi Lake.
