Merlo
It is situated on the western hillside of Comechingones Sierras, on the northwest side of San Luis, acting as a natural border with Córdoba province.
The city was founded in 1796 and due its gorges landscapes it became an important touristic center. It has small hills sprinkled with woods and crystal water streams.
Due its location, Merlo presents a microclimate considered to be the third best of the world, with a medium temperature of 20º C during the whole year. With the presence of thermal waters and an atmosphere free of pollution and negative ionization, Merlo offers a healthy and pleasant stay.
The urban area is built on a zone that present a great unevenness in the grounds that goes from 850 meters to 1.280 meters over the sea level, giving the city a great view of the Concarán Valley.
For being one of the most important touristic centers in Argentina, it presents a very valuable touristic infrastructure, with numerous hotels, resorts with spa and thermal pools, camp grounds and places to rent. Visitors can take guided excursions go to regional restaurants or take a trip through the commercial center.

San Luis
This city was first called Puntanos by the first inhabitants due its location at the foot of Sierras Grandes in Punta de Los Venados extreme. It was also founded bye Luis Jufré on August the 25th of 1594. Even though it was rebuilt in 1632 it conserves Mediterranean characteristics of the XIX century, big colonial style houses with wide playgrounds that are mixed up with modern building constructions, mostly located on the commercial zone.
It is the Capital of the province and it is full of historical places to take a tour to, such as the Cathedral, Santo Domingo’s Convent and the ancient Cabildo. Two of the most important squares an parks are the Independece Square and Pringles Square which has very particular wooded streets what makes it very attractive place.
Other attractions are the dams where visitors can practice water sports and fishing.
In Sierra de las Quijadas National Park tourists can visit the reservation and see the geological transformations and dinosaurs fossils.
With a suitable touristic structure that offers hotels, places to rent and car, the city of San Luis is a safe place.
