Rosario
This city was a royal donation of a land first known as the old Pago de los Arroyos, nearby a chapel where an image of Nuestra Señora del Rosario used to be venerated. This fact was registered around 1665. On these lands, next to Paraná River a small colony was settled down.
Anyway there isn't a foundation act of Rosario and, even though some people claim to have taken the place in 1793, it is considered to be officially founded on October the 7 th of 1793 and declared city on August the 3 rd of 1852.
Together with Buenos Aires and Córdobas´s city, it is considered one of the most important urban conglomerates of the country.
Nowadays Rosario displays the progress reflected on its buildings and urban planning that is constantly changing and getting modernized.
It has become a great commercial and industrial center, with a first class port that is considered to be a point of converge for a large quantity of goods coming from different zones of the country and also from Bolivia. It is worth seeing its trading dock and grain elevators while they are working.
The urban progress goes in accordance with an economic development.
Walking along its avenues visitors can enjoy beautiful promenades and parks such as Belgrano Park and Flag's National Park. This latest one holds the flag's monument in honor of Argentinean insignia and its creator, General Belgrano.
We have to add the excellent hotels, restaurants, discos and theatres, as well as cultural centers and the University, famous all over the province of Santa Fe.
